OVERVIEW The Thoroughbreds Soccer Club provides local youth with opportunities for advanced training and play for the Louisville, KY area. Our goal is to develop soccer players in a positive, competitive, creative environment while teaching each player the values and ethics necessary to become a quality person.
COACHING STAFF All Thoroughbreds coaches agree to foster growth and development of each player and to instill a passion for the game. The coaching staff will manage Thoroughbreds teams in a professional and positive atmosphere.
PLAYER and TEAM DEVELOPMENT Since players develop at various rates over a long period of time, members of our Club believe that ALL players who are committed to excellence are important to a team's success. Since each child is different, so is the pace of his or her development.
At younger ages, the focus of Club programs is to provide a strong foundation of individual skills. Players develop this foundation through age appropriate team training. Additional programs offered to encourage individual development include winter indoor training, summer camp programs, off season conditioning programs, and individualized and small group training. As Thoroughbred teams mature, more emphasis is placed on team development to ensure that the team is competitive at the highest level. Qualified teams participate in "showcase" tournaments and leagues. Players benefit from challenging competition and by exposure to coaches seeking players for colleges and other advanced levels of play.
PLAYER COMMITMENT All Thoroughbred players desire to play at the premiere level and commit themselves to investing the time and energy to achieve excellence. To be a successful Thoroughbreds Soccer Club player, he or she MUST participate in Club training programs and commit themselves to being the best player they can be.
Achieving excellence will benefit the player in his or her soccer career and will transfer to life experiences beyond athletics.
